Sustainable Gardening Workshop & Plant Swap
Enjoy an afternoon of sustainable gardening and community connection at Cockman House, the oldest remaining home in Wanneroo.
Bring along a healthy plant, cutting or seedling — whether seeds, herbs, indoor plants, vegetables or flowers — and swap it for something new at the free community plant exchange. Sharing plants and experiences instead of buying new is a simple and rewarding way to live more sustainably.
From 2:00pm to 3:00pm, stay for a free, all-ages Sustainable Gardening Workshop held on the grounds. The session is family-friendly and offers practical tips to help you garden more sustainably at home. Bookings are required for the workshop component.
Plastic plant pots can’t go in your kerbside recycling bin — but they can still be recycled. Attendees are encouraged to bring unwanted plastic plant pots to the event, where they will be collected and sent to CLAW Environmental, a specialist plastics recycling facility.
Please bring your own drinking water, as the water supply at this heritage property is not suitable for consumption.
This event forms part of the 2026 Australian Heritage Festival, celebrating the diverse stories, places and people that have shaped communities across Australia.
