Furoshiki Workshop with Nami Osaki
Gift wrapping doesn’t have to create unnecessary waste. This holiday season, Japanese artist Nami Osaki from Nami’s Art Room returns to the community to share the art of Furoshiki – the traditional Japanese practice of wrapping gifts and goods in reusable fabric.
In this free 1.5-hour workshop at Piara Waters Library, participants will:

Discover traditional and modern Furoshiki techniques for wrapping gifts of all shapes and sizes.

Learn creative fabric-folding methods to make sustainable carry bags.

Explore simple upcycling ideas to create unique Furoshiki using fabric already at home.
